There are at least 12 old buildings that have been translated in Shanghai!

All decorations are magnificent, “as old as old”..

In 2004, Liu Changsheng’s former residence was officially opened to the public as the exhibition hall of the struggle history of the underground organizations of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai.

In 2003, in order to cooperate with the widening construction of Yan’an Road Viaduct, the Shanghai Concert Hall started the translation project.

During the translation, the Shanghai Concert Hall also completed the internal renovation at the same time.

In the process of the project, the top of the original site was raised by 1.7m, and then began to move southward.

1998 – The translation distance of the gate tower of Siming Mansion, which has been in existence for 220 years: the gate tower of Siming Mansion on Renmin Road, 23 meters, is the only part of the once sensational Siming Mansion.

In 1998, Shanghai prepared to build the China Life Building.

2003 – The parallel translation distance between Shanghai Concert Hall and “Long High”: 66.46m.

It was mainly used by Ningbo residents to “send coffins (deposit coffins)”, “offer sacrifices to the Guan Emperor (worship the Guan Duke)”, and “honor graves (bury the unclaimed corpses)”.

It is a very elegant place.

In order to protect this national treasure level old building, which was nearly 150 years old at that time, the relevant departments decided to move it to the east as a whole.

The French consul finally gave up the occupation of Siming Mansion because of the anti imperialist anger of the people in Shanghai.

Photo of Shanghai Bund Signal Tower in 1938 The observatory was expanded in 1927 after 83 years of operation.

After Shanghai was opened as a port in 1843, the French built a weather signal station on the Bund through the Xujiahui Observatory in 1844, which became the most eye-catching building on the Bund.

Even so, the 450 ton observatory successfully moved 24.5 meters without any damage, which was an unprecedented feat at that time! Today, the first floor of the Bund Observatory is the History Museum, which displays many photos of old Shanghai, from which you can learn about the history and culture of the Bund and Shanghai.

At the earliest time, it was the Nanjing Grand Theater, and later it was also a cinema.

Afterwards, Ningbo villagers launched a large-scale strike.

2001 – The distance between the two translations of the former residence of Liu Changsheng and the Holy Land of the Red Revolution: 133 meters, the Exhibition Hall of the History of the Communist Party of China’s Underground Organizations in Shanghai, and the “Former Residence of Liu Changsheng” at No.

The 927 ㎡ building is equipped with a three storey exhibition area: the ground floor mainly introduces the scene of three secret contact points of Shanghai underground party in the 1930s and 1940s.

After it was renamed Shanghai Concert Hall in 1959, it has been one of the most important music activity centers in Shanghai for decades.

The four offices, also known as Ningbo Guild Hall, were built in 1797 by fellow villagers from Ningbo to Shanghai.

The Shanghai Concert Hall, built in 1930, is the first concert hall in China.

After moving 66.46m, the new site was lifted by 1.68m, and the area of the concert hall was increased by four times.

As a businessman, he was secretly engaged in underground work.

But it was not here before.

In order to make way for the building, the only remaining gate building of Siming Mansion was moved 23 meters as a whole, and the west side was separated from the connected high buildings of the Life Building with newly designed screen glass.

81, Yuyuan Road, may have been visited by many people.

Lifting Anchor

Although it is no longer famous now, it could have been one of the most famous buildings on the Bund 130 years ago.

Three sections of the white tower are inlaid with red bricks, and the top is also decorated with red bricks, which is very eye-catching from a distance.

During this period, the French Concession Board of Directors forced the relocation of Siming Mansion twice with the excuse of building roads, and 300000 Ningbo villagers revolted.

After just two months of translation, a brand new Shanghai Concert Hall will be presented to the world.

beat all! Some old buildings have been “translated”! It is not a move, nor a transformation, but a direct “translation” in place! Many old Shanghai may not know that since the first translation of the Bund Observatory in 1993, at least 12 old buildings have been translated in Shanghai! 1933 – The movement distance of the first translated old building of the Bund Observatory Magic City: The “Bund Observatory” located at the intersection of Zhongshan 1st Road and Yan’an East Road is 24.5 meters.

The theater of Siming Mansion was moved to Qingpu Grand View Garden from 1874 to 1898.

This gate tower is the second mobile building in Shanghai after the Bund Observatory.

In 1993, the road of the Bund was to be reconstructed and expanded, and the observatory was in the center of the Central Shandong First Road after the planning.

However, because there are still houses next to the former residence that have not been demolished, which affects the building translation track, the entire translation project of Liu Changsheng’s former residence has to be carried out in two phases, and the second phase project has moved the building 100 meters.

However, this building was not originally here, and it was translated more than once! In 1946-1949, Liu Changsheng, then the deputy secretary of the Shanghai Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, disguised himself as the small boss of the “Rongtai Smoke” and lived on the second floor of this foreign style house.

At that time, western-style houses were one of the secret organs of the Shanghai Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

The old gramophone broadcasts jazz music of the 1930s and 1940s, and the piano is played regularly.

At that time, Liu Changsheng’s former residence, which was more than 80 years old, needed to be moved protectively.

At that time, there was no mature translation technology for old buildings, and the observatory could only move a few centimeters a day.

On April 27, 2002, it was adjusted as a memorial site in Shanghai.

At the earliest time, it covered an area of more than 30 mu, with a floor area of about 800 square meters.

It only took more than 30 hours to complete the translation of 33 meters.

Around 1951 (after liberation), the function of “storing and transporting the coffin” of Siming Commune gradually disappeared, and the Commune also gradually declined.

The cafe on the second floor has a nostalgic atmosphere.

At this time, the building translation technology has been relatively mature.

The architectural appearance has not changed, but the internal facilities have been renovated.

In 2001, Jing’an planned to develop 900 city squares.

The difference between this shift and the past is that the Shanghai Concert Hall is upgraded once and shifted at the same time.
