Heat storage building materials for passive cooling photovoltaic systems and batteries


Unihalle / mariansorge scientists at Martin Luther University Halle Wittenberg (MLU) and the University of Leipzig in Germany have developed a new type of heat storage material, which is said to have five times the heat storage capacity of commercial phase change storage materials (PCM).

Scientists say the new material is a shape stable phase change material (SS PCM), which can improve the energy efficiency of buildings and can be used for passive cooling of photovoltaic modules and residential cells…
