As most civil air defense works are designed separately in peacetime and wartime, according to 8.6 of the Code for Construction of Concrete Structures (GB506666-2011), the height of horizontal construction joints of external walls is mostly located 300 mm from the surface of the base plate in peacetime design.

To facilitate the embedding and connection of water stop steel plates, it is recommended that the height of construction joints be designed uniformly according to wartime requirements.

The adjacent protection units shall be equipped with protective closed partitions.

Relationship between protection units (1) The building equipment of each protection unit is self-contained.

The parts with requirements for protection and sealing, such as the mouth of the project, the protective sealed section, the lighting well, the reservoir, the water sealed well, the anti-virus well, and the explosion-proof well, shall be concreted integrally at one time.

When they are connected, protective closed doors shall be set on both sides.
