Chinese Rural Architecture Design | Challuabamba Valley Residential Classic Realism

This residence is located in the suburbs of Kunka City, in a valley called Challuabamba. The location and development of the house are faithful to the terrain of the land, unfolding on a single L-shaped horizontal plane without any horizontal changes, integrating internal and external social areas, while utilizing the best landscape of the surrounding mountains..

From a functional perspective, the house was conceived within the standards of introspection, and its front facade is simple in a volume and plan without windows; On the contrary, its rear facade opens up to a private backyard through large windows filled with volume, allowing for the integration of internal and external spaces, utilizing the vast green space on the land while maintaining user privacy..

From an aesthetic perspective, its inspiration comes from the classic modernist housing of the 1950s, where simple plans and volumes dominate, while its structure is part of the formal facade of the residence. The flat roofs of different heights add vitality to their facades and create an additional half height in the social area, allowing indirect natural light to enter while enjoying the surrounding landscape at any time..

Finally, the main material for this project is traditional bricks from Kunka City, which can be made by local workers in various forms; It is finer than usual, emphasizing the proportion of volume and plane used in the house. The color of the bricks is mixed with the black of the metal structure and natural wood, creating a contrast between cold and warm, emphasizing the function of the home..
