GAC has been collaborating with rural communities in Rwanda for over a decade.

We have jointly developed construction methods using local materials such as eucalyptus bark and regional grass for screening, shading, and making acoustic surfaces, We will use the stones from the site for the foundation and walls, and utilize the clay from the area.

The woven bark and grass are used to cover the steel frame roof of the building and serve as internal barriers for better ventilation and shading.

The building of the center is based on a grid, with a series of small courtyards and brick passages built between the buildings.

The center is built using local materials and provides free use of libraries, classrooms, exercise spaces, gardens, outdoor theaters, and sports fields, built and operated by the community.

Our approach is to utilize the entire design and construction process to benefit those who are most often overlooked by design practitioners and marginalized by global development.

During the training of 390 builders in nearby villages on “sustainable and sustainable” construction techniques, stone foundations, locally fired clay bricks, and screens made of bark and grass were all used, aiming to have a long-term impact on the area.

Established the world’s largest architectural forum and online all media platform for 24 years, with thousands of member companies promoting a different future of architecture.

The structure is made of bricks produced by SKAT Consulting, which are locally fired.
