[Architectural Design] Looking back on the “Top Ten Chinese Buildings”, how many have you seen?

The self-awareness of these Christians is also the transmission of their new mission: from a closed minority group to an open community that wants to open its heart to the world, lend a helping hand, and invite new people to join.

The combination of load-bearing masonry and independent column array is shown on the plane in the traditional way of building large houses.

It is made of red granite.

In terms of functional organization, the building meets the needs of the owner by providing a series of multi-functional spaces.

In terms of human nature, it gives this community center a unique tactile experience, a warm and kind touch, and always makes adults and children passing by smile when touching the wall.

The layout of Dieyuan House starts from the construction of internal landscape paintings.

Today’s Huaxiang Church stands alone in a maze of tall buildings in the city.

Since its completion in 1938, Fuzhou Huaxiang Community Center Suppression and New Huaxiang Church has gone through several rounds of great changes under the special historical environment of China: First, the old city where it is located has evolved from decades of depression into a new city with rapid development; Second, from the absolute prohibition of all religious activities before the reform and opening up to the legal resumption of the gathering, the number of church believers has increased dozens of times.

In this year, many things are worth remembering: the Sino US trade war finally started, and it is impossible for us to “make a fortune by making a dull noise”; Russia World Cup ended, Meiqiu King and Mengniu were naturally cold; In 2018, many great people left us, and Great Xia Jin and Stanley Lee, who had been growing up with generations, passed away…

This is destined to be a year worth remembering.

The construction of Dieyuan House is also a reorganization of Lingnan traditional house construction.

Only a few months after the construction of Xinhuaxiang Church, it has become one of the favorite places for young people in this city.

The traditional cloister style academy space is arranged according to the climate characteristics and etiquette rules.

Because of the need for additional space, the congregation decided to build a new community center adjacent to the church.

The word “church” not only refers to a single building itself, but also refers to the sum of all Christians who are like these small stones.

New buildings need to be innovated in architectural form to form a harmonious relationship with the surrounding buildings of different ages, such as different heights, modern, traditional, oriental and western styles.

The design of Dieyuan House does not follow the traditional ritual system, but is based on the terrain, landscape and travel experience in the courtyard.

The main hall faces south, and the east and west sides are open corridors, or secondary living rooms are arranged outside the corridors at the same time.

The architect tried to reconstruct the traditional courtyard style academy in Lingnan area on this base.

From a religious perspective, the endless pebbles interpret the duality of matter.

Aesthetically, it shows an unexpected surprise that can be found in materials, traditional technologies and handicrafts that are considered outdated, and proves that in extreme environments, sometimes the most outstanding is actually the most modest.

All living spaces are supported by three masonry walls, only open to the inner courtyard side.

Here, the traditional ritual axis is restructured into a series of walking, watching and situational interactions.

On the open side, the revolving screen landing door system from the traditional courtyard to the inner courtyard is referred to to ensure the introversion of the space..

Harmony and Evolution The project convinced the owner and the competent department with its design to resolve the imbalance in the process of urban construction through its own excesses.

In the vertical design, continuous ups and downs were used to shape the outline, and the volume was visually fragmented, so that it could hide the “new hall” that was seven times larger than the historical building of Huaxiang Old Hall in essence in proportion.

It has become a popular place for local people and tourists to clock in frequently on microblog and other new mass media.

The traditional hall/wing room primary and secondary systems are also disassembled into a group of daily living space segments connected by semi outdoor corridors.

Contradictions and conflicts are sudden, and the implementation conditions of “Xintang” are very difficult: not only should the owners’ complex space needs be realized under the control of the height and volume of the historic and cultural city, but also should properly handle many contradictions and conflicts between the site itself and the environment.

The gable walls on both sides of the hall provide both load-bearing and lateral rigidity for the thick brick walls, while the wooden column array in the middle of the hall provides open space and vision for the interior while bearing the load.

This year, Chinese designers also made great progress in their international influence.

The skin of the “Old Hall” uses visually similar stone materials, which are rolled into smooth pebbles, and then paved on the exterior wall by means of mesh and stone, reviving the old craft that was almost completely forgotten on typical local buildings.

At the same time, as the central part of this “new hall”, the roof area is conceived as a place for community members to hold outdoor gatherings.

The small volume after fragmentation gradually reduces its height as it is close to the historical buildings, thus highlighting the cross bell tower from the “old hall” to the highest point, and demonstrating the organic growth of the city skyline.

Erection Anchor One Sided

However, looking down from the surrounding buildings, it has become a special component of the fifth facade of the city.

2018 has passed.

The exterior wall of the “New Hall” forms a deliberate contrast with its high gloss curtain wall.

In this special way, Huaxiang Church publicizes its faith and shares its joy with the city.

At the end of 2018, the English design media dezeen Com selected China’s top ten buildings worth remembering and witnessed the growth of “Design China”.

2 Guangzhou Dieyuan House Dieyuan House is located on a sloping hillside, rising slowly from west to east.

In other words, Dieyuan House is a combination of Lingnan Academy tradition and traditional literati garden.
